Elul Friday Night Dinner

  • Sadeh Farm, Skeet Hill House Skeet Hill Lane Orpington, England, BR6 7QA United Kingdom (map)

Book your spot here

Come celebrate the start of the final month of the year - Elul - with feasting and singing in the field!

Elul is a month of reflection before the new year. We will light shabbat candles, share a potluck dinner, and kick off our Elul refections together in the main field surrounded by our summer abundance.

During Elul it's said that "The King (aka the divine presence) is in the field!" Come wander through our overflowing veg beds, forest garden aching with plums, frolic in the golden hour meadow, and see for yourself if it's true!

Absolutely all welcome, no prior experience with judaism assumed :)

Food

Please bring a vegetarian dish to share, which doesn't contain any wines of wine vinegars.

Cost

We invite everyone to give a donation of £4-10 towards Sadeh's running costs. No one turned away for lack of funds, and equally please feel free to donate more if you have it!

How to get here

Take the fast train to Orpington from Charing Cross or London Bridge. You can get an Uber or cab from the station (ACX Cabs 0208 290 0123) to Skeet Hill House, Skeet Hill Lane, BR6 7QA.

We have a Community Rideshare Board to make carpooling and sharing cabs from stations to Sadeh easier.

Access

All are welcome including children.

If you're feeling unwell with anything potentially infectious please stay home and join us another time when you feel better! Refunds available.

Weather permitting we are planning to eat outside the Volunteer Kitchen in the field. This is about 100 yards from the main house which has step free access and an accessible toilet. The path is: step free, partially woodchip and grass, generally traversable on a wheelchair in dry weather, if the ground has been wet we can put plastic grassmatts down to make it more easily traversable. We can send photos on request! In case of rain we will eat in the main house.

At all our events there is space to lie down and rest if you need. More information on our access page. The more info we have the better plans we can make, so please be in touch with any access needs!
